The Process
The deadline for submitting productions for the international selection was 15 January 2010.
The process of productions to be selected for screening at the conference is quite simple:
National Coordinators submit productions within a national quota to the international selection which was hosted this year by the NPO, the Dutch public broadcaster in Hilversum.
Countries without an NC submit productions to the International Selection Coordinator, who then submits selected productions to the international selection.
To stay informed about future deadlines, please contact your local NC. A complete list of them can be found here.
INPUT is a completely voluntary organisation - no fees are charged to submit a production to the conference. Further, there are no travel grants paid to productions and programme makers that are selected to be screened at the conference.
The Shopstewards
The international selection which is hosted by NPO is led by the International Selection Coordinator: Since 2009 that is William Gilcher from the USA.
In 12 days, the 12 Shopstewards screen almost 300 programmes that are submitted to the international selection, discuss them and identify themes that are of relevance to broadcasters and programme makers. These themes are made into "Sessions" which then form the backbone of the conference programme.
22 Sessions will be held at the 2010 conference. 18 of these Sessions will consist of programmes selected by the 12 Shopstewards. Four more sessions are so-called produced Sessions. These sessions are usually organised by the conference host and the INPUT Board and tackle broadcasting relevant issues.
The Shopstewards in 2010 are:
Kenny Bae (KR)
Sebastian Cardemil (EC)
Jedrzej Dudkiewicz (PL)
