Session Nr. 17: Taking a chance with shrinking budgets - ending up with new kinds of programmes.

Shopsteward: Jędrzej Dudkiewicz
Time & Date: 09:30,  11 May 2010
Room: Green Room

Reducing the cost of the programmes is a reality. Is it possible as television and film people, to be able to find a solution to maintain the attractiveness of the programmes with reduced budgets? Is it enough to have new ideas and creativity or do we also need to take a new look for other sources of content and its acquisition? Archives, public and private, user generated content, use of completely different technologies, use of photography, changes in the production and post production - those are several measures we can take to make productions cheaper. Can we, thanks to that, give a fresh flavor to what we do? Can we also get closer to the viewers? And can we still maintain - with a continuous reduction of costs - the expected quality standards?
